Named “Best Dinner Theater” by Gold Coast Magazine and New Times, Laffing Matterz at the Broward Center has returned to the Abdo New River Room for another six-month engagement with an all-new show that ranges from a comic look at down-home cooking queen Paula Dean to low-down sexting politicians.

Rita Wells, co-creator of the long-running comedy hit, shared a preview of what audiences can expect this year. "For 2012, a year when some believe doomsday will occur, we have the 'End of Days Rag,' while for those that think that our culture may be the only thing dying we offer the Republican debates with Lady Gaga's flair. Then of course there is the economy, the repeal of 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' as well as the political scandal of the day. As with all our shows, our cast of 10 multi-talented performers also make us laugh at ourselves and the silly things that happen living everyday life," she said.
You need a great opening act when you have a show like that and Laffing Matterz delivers with an award-winning pre-show dinner. Christopher Gillis, executive chef at Laffing Matterz at the Broward Center, is always experimenting with new creations and has created a mouth-watering menu.

Appetizers include two jumbo lump crabmeat cakes sautéed to golden brown served with a creamy lemon-caper sauce, three risotto and goat cheese balls infused with white truffle oil, and skewers of BBQ-marinated beef tenderloin served with cold Asian noodle salad
